James Butler, Pre-K Teacher at Gullett Elementary
Dear Families,
Welcome to Pre-K at Gullett Elementary! My name is James Butler and I will be your child’s teacher for the 2014-2015 school year. I am excited to be a part of your child’s life in this extremely important time.
I am entering my 13th year of teaching. I have 10 years of experience in Early Childhood Education (Kindergarten and Pre-K). I graduated from Manchester University in North Manchester, Indiana in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, specializing in Early Childhood. I also received my Masters Degree in Reading Specialization from Grand Canyon University (AZ) in 2006. I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and I'm a huge sports fan of all Cleveland teams, as well as the Ohio State Buckeyes. O H! I O!
I also enjoy traveling the world and learning different cultures. I have flags from all of the countries that I have visited hanging in our classroom. In 2009, I spent the year volunteer teaching in Namibia (southern Africa). My village was in the “bush”, two and a half hours from the nearest grocery store, post office, etc. It was an incredible experience and opened my eyes even more to the beauty of the world and I came away with a great deal of gratitude. I look forward to sharing my experiences with your child and helping your child reach their potential in Pre-K and inspire them to do their best throughout their lives!
Thank you for caring about your child’s future, and thank you for allowing me to be a part of his/her life.
Sincerely,
James Butler
